ILT receives FDA approval to market its Genesis 2000 Laser for tooth whitening
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ion Laser Technology Inc.
(AMEX: ILT) -- Lynn B. Barney, president and chief executive officer of Ion Laser Technology, announced today that the company has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to market its Genesis 2000 Carbon Dioxide Laser for use in "laser tooth whitening." The company is still pending FDA approval for its argon laser which is also used in the procedure. Response by the FDA to that application is expected to be received within days.
Barney stated that "The company intends to begin opening laser whitening centers with selected dentists during the first quarter of 1996. Initial centers opening in the first quarter will include Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, New York City, Phoenix, Washington ., Philadelphia, and Salt Lake City. Requests have been received from dentists throughout the United States and several foreign countries."
Ion Laser Technology manufactures and markets precision laser instruments for industrial, scientific and dental applications. The company's products are used for precision measurement and various types of surgical and non-invasive applications.
